TIPS & TRICKS

This is not an ad (truly lol), Jetpens has just been a great place to try all kinds of brush pens and comics nibs. They also have a great variety of rulers, erasers, and other paper needs for your various writing hobbies. This is an especially great resource for ordering online if you're not near a local artist supply store and you fucking hate giving dollars to Amazon.

Huzzah! Incredibly & accessible resources for your digital comics-making needs. Artist Victoria Douglas out of Columbus/Springfield OH has been kicking ass at developing these digital resources for Photoshop, Procreate, and Clip Studio. While these are available for free, definitely pay what you can to show some support for a fellow artist!

There's also more brush/texture supplies that we like such as: True Grit Texture Supply: https://www.truegrittexturesupply.com
& Comics MaxPack: https://maxulichney.gumroad.com/l/ComicsMaxPack

Based out of Gainesville, Florida, the Sequential Artists Workshop offers tons of online programming such as workshops and classes ranging from free to fairly affordable and from one evening to weeks worth of learning! Definitely check them out if you're looking for ways to learn more about making comics & drawing techniques.

And we can't forget about the mighty power of BOOKS.

There are a few books in the FORCE series, such as Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators, but the anatomy book is also great.

Of course, there are other essentials like Making Comics by Lynda Barry and Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud. Share your favorite resources with us!
